About Foroige & Mayo Abbey Foroige Club

Foróige is the leading youth organisation in Ireland whose purpose is to enable young people to involve themselves consciously and actively in their development and in the development of society.

Foróige Clubs are designed to contribute significantly to a young persons broad education and the development of 21st century life and work skills such as teamwork, creativity, problem solving and initiative.  The club also about friendship and fun, getting involved in the community, self-confidence and exercising responsibility.

Foróige Clubs are a safe, enjoyable place for young people to hang out, meet new friends, get involved in activities and have a voice. What makes a Foróige Club different to other youth clubs is that it is run by the young people themselves, with support from Volunteer Adult leaders. This allows them to believe in themselves, make decisions and practice leadership.
